Shocked neighbors today claimed Keon Lincoln had been shot and stabbed in a gang attack outside his home with the suspects fleeing in a white Ford C-Max, which crashed into a house a short distance away in Wheeler Street.
He was reportedly announced dead in hospital after being ‘attacked with weapons’ on Linwood Road after 3.30 pm.
A 14-year-old boy arrested this morning on suspicion of murder, remains in custody as detectives continue their investigation.
Cops have this morning arrested a teen boy on suspicion of the killing. He remains in custody.
What Keon Lincoln family, neighbors, friends say about him
Keon’s family today paid tribute to him, saying, “It is with profound grief that we announce the passing of our beloved Keon, who was senselessly taken from us on Thursday 21st January.
“Keon was a fun-loving 15-year-old who was full of life and love for his family and friends. He had an infectious laugh that lit up the room whenever he was in it.”
Neighbors say Keon’s mum, who works as a cleaner at a local school and has four other kids, is devastated by the tragedy.

What we know so far about Keon Lincoln
Responding officers were contacted to arrive at Linwood Road in the Handsworth area of the city just after 3.30 pm on Thursday. Paramedics rushed Keon to a nearby hospital. Despite the efforts of medics, he couldn’t be saved and was pronounced dead later.
And detectives say Keon’s death has “shocked the whole community” as they call for members of the public to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Alastair Orencas said: “The death of Keon has shocked the whole community and we have increased our patrols in the area.
Forensics officers were spotted last night and this morning combing the area for clues as police officers conducted house-to-house inquiries. The abandoned getaway car was also being examined.
A spokesman for West Midlands said: “We received a number of calls to Linwood Road in Handsworth, at 3.39 pm.
What witnesses say about the incident
Witnesses have also spoken of their horror.
Zuzanna Wozinak said: “You just cannot fathom that people that young can be involved in something this horrifically violent.
“I didn’t see what happened, but I was told they just jumped this lad out of the blue. Some had guns and some had knives.
Another resident, who did not want to be named, added: “I no longer feel safe walking around here even in the daytime.
“He was just a 15-year-old. He was a baby. How can this happen?”
