Steve Carrillo is named as the suspect who shot and killed Santa Cruz County sheriff’s deputy in Ben Lomond, an unincorporated area near Santa Cruz on Saturday while making an arrest, Santa Cruz County Sheriff Jim Hart said. Two other law enforcement officers were wounded, according to authorities. Carrillo was shot during the arrest and is still being treated at the hospital.

According to the I-Team, Carrillo a is 32 year-old who is an active duty US Air Force sergeant based out of Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield.
Steve Carrillo Personal Life
Carrillo is survived by his wife, Monika Carrillo, who was a First Class Airmen in the Air Force, but she died in an off-base hotel in South Carolina in 2018.
Authorities said at the time her death was not suspicious. The duo had two children.
