According to Stubbs’ agent, she died at her home in Edinburgh, surrounded by her family.

Fans mourned the demise of their favourite actress by posting ‘remembrance’ messages of her iconic roles. One user wrote, “Noooo! I loved her as Mrs Hudson in Sherlock!” Another tweeted, “Oh no!
