Mahlon Reyes was best known as the deckhand on the Discovery Channel’s reality show “Deadliest Catch”. Reyes had worked on two crabbing boats on “Deadliest Catch,” the Seabrooke and Cape Caution. Besides, he had also appeared on the show more than a dozen times since 2012.

Reyes worked as a deckhand on the show and appeared in 14 episodes, per IMDb.

The 38-year-old reality show star has reportedly died due to heart attack on July 27, a rep for Discovery, where the show aired, confirmed the death to Fox News.

Mahlon Reyes is survived by his wife, Heather B. Sullivan. The couple extended their family to four beautiful daughters: Maycie,  9, Harloe, 11; Treja, 15; Jayden, 18.

“We laugh and remember all the funny stories and have been surrounded by an amazing group of our best friends and family. “I am in awe of the people that he touched just by his positive attitude and smile”.

Mahlon Reyes Death News

Reyes suffered a massive heart attack in his hometown of Whitefish, Montana, on July 25 and was rushed to the hospital, Reyes’ wife confirmed to TMZ.

A day after, he reportedly did not regain consciousness and was announced dead at 38 due to heart attack.

“On Sunday night our family together made the hardest choice we’ve ever made and that was to remove him from life support. Mahlon’s body was tired and had put up an amazing fight. He was the strongest guy we knew. He was surrounded by so much love”, Reyes’ wife, Sullivan, said.

“This place misses you. RIP Mahlon”, “Deadliest Catch” deck boss Nick McGlashan paid respects on Twitter with a photo of Reyes on deck.

Heather Sullivan said that Reyes was cremated and his best friends will spread his ashes in the Bering Sea and in Montana’s Swan Range mountains “where he and his brother would snowcat.

The Discovery Channel paid tribute: “So sad, Reyes was so young. Our thoughts and prayers to his family”.

GoFundMe page has been set up for the Reyes family following the unexpected death.

“It’s been such a tragedy and anything would help even if it’s a simple share or a prayer”, the page, which had raised more than $13,000 as of Sunday night, states.
