Kitty Fassel is widely known as the wife of former New York Giants head coach Jim Fassel who has died at the age of 71. His son, John, told the Los Angeles Times that Fassel, who was living in Las Vegas, had chest pains on Monday, June 7, and was transferred to a hospital.
However, while under sedation, he suffered a heart attack and breathed his last.
It has been reported that his entire family has now gathered in Las Vegas to pay their last respects.

Kitty and Jim married in 1971. However, it appears that Kitty likes to keep her personal life quite private as there is little information about her online. The pair was only 19 years old when they gave up their eldest son, John Mathieson, for adoption on 5 April 1969.
This was partly because they were not yet married.

However, the couple divorced in 2006 after 35 years together. Although they soon worked through their differences and remarried.

The Fassel’s also have four other children, including two further sons named John and Brian. While less is known about Jim Fassel’s other children, John Fassel is now an American Football coach. He is currently the special team’s coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL, joining the team in 2020.
John previously attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, and then played for Weber State University as a wide receiver.
He initially worked with the Oakland Raiders in 2009 and then moved in 2012 to work for the St Louis Rams as a special teams coordinator.

Fassel served as the coach of the New York Giants from 1997 to 2003. Under his guidance, the franchise appeared in Super Bowl XXXV against the Baltimore Ravens. He was also honored with the NFL’s coach of the year in 1997 as he led the Giants to a 10-5-1 record and a playoff berth.

He also spent years of his professional life as a quarterback and offensive coordinator in the college ranks and NFL.
He was the head coach of the now-defunct United Football League from 2009 to 2012 as well.
Jim Fassel Cause of Death
His son, John, who is currently the Dallas Cowboys special teams coordinator, told the paper that his father suffered chest pains Monday, was taken to a local hospital by a friend and died of a heart attack while under sedation.
After the news of his death was out, tributes started pouring in for him on the Internet.
One person tweeted, “I became a New York Football @Giants fan in 2001 when Jim Fassel was the head coach and they’ve been one of the biggest parts of my life ever since. RIP Coach and thank you for being a wonderful representative of the Football Giants.”

Jim was named the NFL’s Coach of the Year in his first season after guiding New York to a 10-5-1 campaign, and an improvement from 6-10.
Fassel led the Giants to two NFC East crowns and three playoff berths in his tenure, including an appearance in Super Bowl 35, a 34-7 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens. He last coached in the NFL during the 2006 season as the offensive coordinator for the Ravens.
