Kevin Trejo is a New Jersey Starbucks employee who is from Westwood. He is 21 years old as of 2020.
Trejo has reportedly been accused of spitting in numerous drinks police officers ordered, local authorities shared.
“Under the current COVID threat, it is extremely disturbing to think that someone would intentionally spit in your drink”, Park Ridge Police Captain Joseph Rampolla said, NorthJersey.com reports.
Kevin Trejo Allegedly Spat in the Coffees of New Jersey Cops
21-year-old Trejo, who was an employee at Starbucks, was arrested over spitting into the drinks of law enforcement officers at the New Jersey Starbucks where he worked, officials say.
It is unclear how long Trejo allegedly contaminated the drinks of officers at the New Jersey Starbucks.
He was allegedly charged with subjecting a law enforcement officer to bodily fluid, purposely tampering with a law enforcement officer’s drink.
Kevin Trejo Fired and Taken into Custody
The New Jersey Starbucks confirmed that Trejo has been fired.
He was arrested at a Park Ridge location and later released from police custody on Monday. It is currently unknown if he had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
Starbucks Calls for Apology
In a statement to News 4 Tuesday, Starbucks called the alleged behavior “reprehensible” and said it had apologized to the Park Ridge Police Department.
“We want everyone who comes into our stores to receive a positive experience and when that doesn’t occur, we move quickly to address it and hold ourselves accountable, a spokesperson for Starbucks said.
“We will continue to support Park Ridge Police in their investigation and have a deep respect for the Park Ridge Police Department and the officers who help keep our partners and communities safe”.
Park Ridge Police Comments
Park Ridge location normally has an amicable relationship with local authorities, hosting several ‘Coffee with a Cop’ events.
