Keith Thomas Kinnunen is identified as the shooting suspect of the Church of Christ White Settlement, Texas, on December 29, 2019. Law enforcement sources told local station KXAS Channel 5 that Kinnunen was the shooter.

Two people are dead and one is in critical condition after reports say a church in White Settlement was shot.

Several agencies responded to the 1900 South Las Vegas Trail in White Settlement, where the West Freeway Church of Christ is located.

MedStar spokeswoman Macara Trusty confirmed that one person died at the shooting site, one person died on the way to a hospital, and another person was brought to the hospital in critical condition.

According to a spokesman for the Fort Worth Fire Department, Mike Drivdahl, the agency had sent out an “active threat” order around 11:30 am and was on-site to assist the police and the White Settlement fire.

Kinnunen was allegedly shot by a volunteer security guard of the Church security team. He got up in front of the audience at 10:50 a.m. on Sunday morning in the West Freeway Church of Christ, went to a corner of the church after saying something there, then pulled a shotgun from his coat and opened fire on footage of Fort Worth Star-Telegram.


The footage showed Kinnunen apparently wearing a hooded jacket and holding a shotgun in his hand.

Before moving to Texas, Kinnunen lived in Tucson, Arizona for several years, where he was arrested several times. He was found guilty of carrying a hidden weapon without permission in 1998. In 2000 he was convicted of driving license in Arizona. In 2004, Kinnunen was arrested in Pima, Arizona for disorderly behavior but was released.

In 2010, Kinnunen was charged with theft of regulatory offenses in Tucson and missed several court appearances in this case. In 2011, he was charged with assault and misconduct in Tucson and had no charges against him in this case. Kinnunen was again charged with assault in Tucson in 2014.

While living in Arizona in 1996, the then 19-year-old Kinnunen married a 34-year-old woman, according to online records. She was later listed as a victim of domestic violence in the Oklahoma raid in 2011. She complained an injunction against Kinnunen.

He was arrested and charged with illegal possession of a gun. He was taken to Union County Prison in Elizabeth and held on bail of $ 20,000. He later pleaded guilty to a reduced charge.

Charles Stewart, deputy chief of police, said River Oaks arrested him in 2009 and 2015 for an unpaid ticket warrant, NBC DFW reported.

Fort Worth police arrested Kinnunen and charged him with two serious crimes in 2008. In 2009, he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of deadly behavior.
