Joseph O’Connell was known as the husband of Patricia Hitchcock, the only child of acclaimed filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock, who breathed her last on Monday, August 9 in Thousand Oaks, California.
The unfortunate news was confirmed by her daughter Katie O’Connell-Fiala. The late actress is now survived by her daughters Mary, Tere and Katie, grandchildren Kelly, Caitlin, Trisha, Kate, Samantha, and Chris, and great-grandchildren Ava, Joey, Maddie, Scarlett, Cole, Charlotte, Whitley, and Jamie.

Joseph E. O’Connell, Jr. was the husband of Patricia Hitchcock — the only daughter of Alma and Alfred Hitchcock. The couple was married at Our Lady Chapel in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York, on January 17, 1952.
Unlike his actress wife and her father, he stayed out of the spotlight, so it is not known what he did for a living.
He died on January 21, 1994, and Pat never remarried. He was a businessman.

Known affectionately to her family as Katie, Joe and Pat’s youngest daughter was born February 27, 1959.

Patricia Hitchcock, who was fondly known as Pat by her friends and colleagues, acted in several movies of her father but she was best known for her roles in ‘Strangers on a Train’, ‘Psycho’ and ‘Stage Fright’. How Did Pat Hitchcock Die?
The cause of Pat Hitchcock’s death was not revealed by the family.
Born in London in 1928 to Alfred Hitchcock and his wife Alma Reville, Pat later moved to Los Angeles along with her family in 1939. Her first stint with acting came in the form of a Broadway play called ‘Violet’.
She then made her mark with films like ‘The Case of Thomas Pyke’, ‘Skateboard’, ‘Six Characters in Search of an Author’ and ‘Ladies of the Corridor’ among a few others. She also showed her exceptional acting skills on the small screen with TV shows like ‘Suspense’, ‘Suspicion’, ‘My Little Margie’, ‘Matinee Theatre’.
