Jaquan Yulee was a Marshall University linebacker who was on his way to make it big in the world of football but died on Tuesday, July 13. Yulee’s death was confirmed by a number of die-hard fans.

He played every game in his freshman and sophomore years at the Marshall university as a hard-hitting linebacker. In his junior season, he made his first career start in the season-opening win against VMI.

However, he left the VMI game with a serious injury and did not play again in 2019.

He was on his way to making a comeback in the sport when the tragedy struck.

Jaquan Yulee Car Accident

Jaquan Rashad Yulee died in a car crash Tuesday, police said. At 7:12 p.m., police and fire rescue units responded to an overturned vehicle on the 6400 block of Leafwood Road near South Quay Road in rural Suffolk.

Officials say he was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was a football star at Indian River High before heading to Marshall University.

Fans flocked to social media after learning the news of Yulee’s death.

“I’m shocked right now after hearing the news that former Marshall Player Jaquan Yulee passed away this evening in a car accident! He was just cleared by doctors to play football again after suffering a broken spine 2 years ago!”

“Life is so precious,” wrote football enthusiast and professional photographer, Joshua Murdock.

No other details are known about his car crash.

Fans flocked to Twitter to fondly remember Yulee and to offer their prayers after his demise.

“Just ain’t right… Prayers to the Yulee family and all of the lives that I know you impacted! I could always count on a smile that would cut through anything! RIP Yulee, gone far too soon,” one user wrote, while another said, “In all of my years at Marshall I never saw someone always in a good mood and as passionate for football as @JaquanYulee2 You were about to make the comeback of a lifetime, about to make your decision, and then this happens.”
