Gregory Sierra was an American actor who was best known for his roles as Detective Sergeant Chano Amenguale on Barney Miller and as Julio Fuentes, the Puerto Rican neighbor of Fred G. Sanford on Sanford and Son. He died on January 4, 2021, from cancer at the age of 83.
Sierra was of Puerto Rican descent. He lived in Laguna Woods, California. Sierra attended the Cathedral College of the Immaculate Conception, in Brooklyn.
Originally from New York, Sierra relocated to California, pursuing a film and stage career that ultimately spanned five decades.
