Dmitry Obretetsky Biography
Dmitry Obretetsky: A Russian businessman who lived in Britain has reportedly been hit by a car and killed while walking his dog in Surrey.
Surrey Police say a man in his 40s was knocked down in Oxshott and later died, with Russian media naming him as Dmitry Obretetsky, a 49-year-old tycoon.
In Russian press today, Obretetsky’s friend Pavel Borovkov questioned whether he was deliberately killed.
“You know, people drive cars very carefully in London. I don’t exclude the fact that he was specially shot down.”https://t.co/fD5GryGwMu

Dmitry Obretetsky Killed in Car Crash
Mr Borovkov is quoted by Russian news outlet Life as saying Obretetsky was a long-time resident of Britain but often came back to Russia on business.
Commenting on the fatal crash, he said: ‘You know, people drive cars very carefully in (Britain)… I don’t exclude that he was specially knocked down.’
Surrey Police have appealed for information over the incident involving three cars.
The force confirmed the death yesterday, more than a week after the November 25 crash, but have not named the man who died.
It is the latest in a series of mysterious deaths of prominent Russians in the area, after Badri Patarkatsishvili died at an estate near Leatherhead in 2008, Alexander Peripilichnyy died near Weybridge in 2012 and Boris Berezovsky died near Ascot in 2013.
The death also comes at a time of heightened tensions between the West and Russia after Germany expelled two Russian diplomats over the murder of Georgian Zelimkhan Khangoshvili.

German prosecutors say there is sufficient evidence to suggest that either the Russian government or authorities in the Russian region of Chechnya ordered the hit.
The three drivers involved in the incident in Surrey last week are understood to have stopped at the scene, but detectives have appealed for information and dashcam footage of the incident.
A police spokesman said: ‘We are continuing to investigate the circumstances around the collision.’
