After human remains believed to be of Gabby Petito were found in the Wyoming park where the search for her was ongoing, many on Twitter are now drawing attention toward another missing person’s case – that of geologist Daniel Robinson, who disappeared on June 23 in an Arizona desert and has not been found since.

Police confirmed that human remains found do not belong to missing Buckeye resident Daniel Robinson.

His Jeep was found abandoned in a ravine in mid-July.

Daniel Robinson has been named as the Arizona geologist who was last seen in late June. He disappeared on June 23 in an Arizona desert, reports revealed. According to a statement released Thursday by the Buckeye Police Department, a human skull found near the area of Robinson’s Jeep was determined to not be his.

Robinson was reported missing on June 23 after he was last seen leaving his work site near Sun Valley Parkway and Cactus Road.

According to an initial police report, Robinson did not tell anyone where he was going or why he was leaving. On July 19, his Jeep was found in a ravine with significant damage.

The human skull was found south of where Robinson’s Jeep was discovered. “No other human remains have been found, despite online reports claiming otherwise,” the police statement released Thursday read.

The other remains found in the search were determined to be animal bones, according to police.

In July, investigators ruled out the possibility of foul play due to the state of the vehicle. Robinson was heading west further into the desert in a 2017 blue Jeep Renegade with Arizona license plate NLA2CMA.

He did not tell anyone where he was going or why he was leaving and has not been heard from since officials said.

Robinson is 5-foot-8, has black hair and brown eyes, and does not have a right forearm or hand, police said.

According to a GoFundMe account set up by Robinson’s family, Robinson was hired as a field geologist and moved to Phoenix after he graduated from college in 2019. He oversees sites located in remote desert areas and often works in extreme conditions and travels long distances to work on projects, the GoFundMe said.
