Who is Fired NBA Photographer – Bill Baptist Wikipedia

Bill Baptist

Bill Baptist is best known as the long-time Houston-based NBA photographer who worked as an independent contractor for the Houston Rockets for more than 30 years

Baptist’s post went largely unnoticed, until it was spotted by basketball legend Sheryl Swoopes.

Bill Baptist was working inside the Orlando, Florida bubble as an ‘independent contractor’ when he posted a doctored Joe Biden 2020 campaign image to his Facebook page on Tuesday.

The original campaign image features the words ‘Joe 2020’ written in distinctive red and blue font.

Bill Baptist Posted Meme Over Kamala Harris

A freelance photographer, inside NBA’s Disney World, was reportedly fired by NBA after he posted a meme of Senator Kamala Harris, D-California, following the announcement of her candidacy for vice president, alongside presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

The now-fired photographer, Bill Baptist, had his meme read, “Joe and the Hoe”.

According to an anonymous source confirmed by USA Today Sports, Baptist had been pulled out from the NBA bubble in Orlando and let go of for his disrespectful Facebook post.

WNBA Hall of Fame recipient and gold medalist Sheryl Swoopes called out Baptist on the “disrespectful”  Facebook post, added Wednesday, saying, “he needs to go”.

Bill Baptist Mocked For His Meme

“So this guy works for the NBA but covers the Houston Rockets. Has been around for a while. Even worked for the Houston Comets. It’s amazing how people will smile in your face but eventually, their true colors will show. @NBA and Houston Rockets he needs to GO!!! So disrespectful. Bill Baptiste shame on you!!”

“The photographer is an independent contractor and his services are no longer being used in Orlando”, the organization said in a statement.

Bill Baptist’s Public Apology

He released his own statement with Click2Houston, in which he apologized for the post.

“I deeply regret posting on my Facebook page a phrase that I saw and copied from others as a sample of some people’s reactions to Biden’s selection of Senator Harris as his choice for VP. The phrase I posted does not reflect my personal views at all”, Baptist said.

“I should not have been so insensitive to post the statements by others.. I sincerely apologize to all of those who have rightfully been offended and I have taken the post down from my FB page. It was a horrible mistake on my part”.
