Anna Ruch Cuomo
Anna is declared to be the third woman who has accused Governor Andrew M. Cuomo of inappropriate behavior, just hours after the New York governor formally referred himself for investigation over similar allegations from two former aides. She told the newspaper that Cuomo put his hand on her lower back and when she removed it with her own hand, the governor said that she seemed “aggressive” and put his hands on her cheeks.
Ms. Anna told The New York Times that she met Mr. Cuomo at a wedding in September 2019. During the reception, he put his hand on her bare lower back – which she pushed away – and asked if he could kiss her. “I was so confused and shocked and embarrassed,” Ms. Ruch told the Times.
“I turned my head away and didn’t have words at that moment.”
Ms. Ruch’s testimony comes just days after former aide Charlotte Bennett told The New York Times that he sexually harassed her last year. Ms. Bennett’s allegations Saturday came just four days after another ex-aide, Lindsey Boylan, described unwanted physical contact from Cuomo.

In September 2019, she attended a friend’s wedding in New York City. At the wedding reception, she was introduced to the governor of the capital, Cuomo.
“I didn’t have a choice in his physical dominance over me at that moment. And that’s what infuriates me. And even with what I could do, removing his hand from my lower back, even doing that was not clear enough”, Ms. Anna said.

Ruch claims the 63-year-old placed his hand on her lower back after she had gone to congratulate him on his toast. When she removed his hand, he allegedly placed them on her cheeks in an “aggressive” manner and asked, “Can I kiss you?”
There are reportedly also text messages that corroborate the story, with Ruch telling an unidentified person she was “p****d” at Cuomo. The former US housing secretary turned governor admitted his behavior “may have been insensitive or too personal” after reports of Ruch’s claims began.
“I acknowledge some of the things I have said have been misinterpreted as an unwanted flirtation. To the extent anyone felt that way, I am truly sorry about that,” the Democrat said.
Earlier Monday, New York attorney general Letitia James said that Mr. Cuomo’s office had written to her granting her request to set up an independent probe into the accusations. The referral letter noted that the findings of the investigation will be “disclosed in a public report,” Ms. James added.
Mr. Cuomo said Sunday he was “truly sorry” if his conduct had ever been “misinterpreted as an unwanted flirtation” as he faced mounting pressure over the scandal. He has denied ever inappropriately touching or propositioning anyone.
