Ali Yousif Ahmed Al-Nouri Accused of Being Al Qaeda Leader by Iraq
According to the authorities in Iraq, Ali Yousif Ahmed Al-Nouri is reportedly accused of shooting down two police officers in Fallujah in 2006 with other members of the terror group founded by Usama Bin Laden, Arizona federal prosecutors confirmed.
The 42-year-old was arrested Wednesday in Phoenix and appeared before a federal magistrate Friday. The FBI and U.S. Marshals arrested him after Iraq’s request for his extradition.

“According to the information provided by the Government of Iraq in support of its extradition request, Ahmed served as the leader of a group of Al-Qaeda terrorists in Al-Fallujah, Iraq, which planned operations targeting Iraqi police”, Arizona federal prosecutors stated in a news release.
“Ahmed and other members of the Al-Qaeda group shot and killed a first lieutenant in the Fallujah Police Directorate and a police officer in the Fallujah Police Directorate, on or about June 1, 2006, and October 3, 2006, respectively”.
According to prosecutors, the details in the complaint were allegations, which have not been proved right in court. It is also unclear how long he had been living in Arizona, and how he entered the U.S., or what he did for a living.
No attorney has been appointed for Al-Nouri yet, and no plans to fight extradition have been launched yet.
