Alejandro Ripley is named as the autistic son of accused Florida woman Patricia Ripley who was caught killing and pushing him into a canal in what authorities say was a first, but thwarted, murder attempt, according to prosecutors. The newly released video has gone viral on social media.

He is survived by his parents, Patricia Ripley and Aldo Ripley and a brother.

Patricia reportedly faked Alejandro’s abduction after trying to drown him twice, with witnesses rescuing the boy from a Florida canal the first time, and the second attempt ending in the boy’s death, officials confirmed on Saturday.

He was autistic and nonverbal. He was allegedly found dead in a Miami Canal Friday.

The alleged footage shows Patricia walking with Alejandro, and then stroking his head, before trying to drown him into the canal. She instantly runs off screen before arriving with neighbors, who saved Alejandro.

In an interview Saturday, Fernandez Rundle claimed that Patricia tried to push him into the water at Kendall Acres Condominium complex. However, nearby resident heard yelling and saved the boy.

Patricia then forced to him to another canal at the Miccosukee Golf and Country Club, officials said.

“Unfortunately when she took him to the second canal, and there was no one there. She tried it once, and people rescued him. He was alive. He could have stayed alive. She intended, from all the facts of the case, to kill him”, Fernandez Rundle revealed.

He said: “We love Alejandro, and we got aggrieved with whatever they said about my wife. It’s not real”.

An autopsy was being done on Alejandro Saturday to examine if he had other wounds or perhaps had something toxic in his system. She said no decision has been made yet on whether prosecutors will seek the death penalty.

Patricia was reportedly arrested and charged with facing attempted and premeditated murder charges and being in jail with no bond, Miami-Dade State said.

Miami-Dade police department says the mother first claimed she was ambushed by two black men who demanded drugs and took her cellphone, tablet and son, before fleeing Thursday night, prompting an Amber Alert in the area south of Miami.

Alejandro’s body was pulled out of a golf course canal early Friday as police continued to interrogate the woman.

An arrest affidavit says she provided ‘conflicting statements,’ and finally was confronted with testimonies of witnesses and video footage showing the first attempt to push him into the canal.

The document says she recanted her story and admitted she drove to another site and led him into a different canal stating ‘he’s going to be in a better place’.
