Who was Adah Lesslie?
Adah Lesslie was the granddaughter of Dr. Robert Lesslie, the founder, and medical director of Riverview Hospice and Palliative Care, based in York, Lancaster and Chester counties. She was one of the victims who died in the shooting in Rock Hill. Her grandparents and brother were also shot.

Robert and Barbara Lesslie
Barbara had been married to Robert for over 35 years and shared four children: Lori, Amy, Robbie, and Jeffrey, and had five grandchildren. He was an active member of his home church in Rock Hill where he served as an elder, and he and his wife, Barbara, taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir.
They were also involved with an outreach program for disabled/handicapped individuals, Camp Joy, where Dr. Lesslie served as the camp physician for a week each summer. His biography page also indicates that he and his wife Barbara Lesslie raised four children and had five grandchildren.

Former NFL defensive back Phillip Adams shot and killed five people on Wednesday afternoon in Rock Hill, S.C., before turning a gun on himself and committing suicide early this morning, according to the Associated Press, who cited a source familiar with the investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office has not publicly confirmed that Phillip Adams was the gunman in the shootings. But Adams’ father, Alonzo, told WCNC-TV in Charlotte that his son is the suspect and that his son was found dead after a standoff with police. The station is also reporting that Lewis and the unidentified individual who remains hospitalized were employees of GSM Services, an HVAC company based in Gastonia, N.C.
The pair were reportedly working at the Lesslie home at the time of the shooting.

The shooting happened around 5 pm near Marshall Road.
The victims include Dr. Robert Lesslie, 70; his wife, Barbara Lesslie, 69; as well as grandchildren Adah Lesslie, 9, and Noah Lesslie, 5. Another individual, James Lewis, 38, was shot outside the Lesslie’s home, and a sixth person has been hospitalized under “serious gunshot wounds.”
A fifth victim was identified as James Lewis, 38, who was working at the house when he was shot, according to the York County coroner’s office. A sixth person was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries from the gunshot wounds.
The suspected gunman was found at a nearby house after a huge search operation that lasted hours. He had killed himself with a .45-caliber weapon.
